My grateful thanks to the Committee and exhibitors at Midland and Northern for giving me such an enjoyable and memorable day. The entry was super in number and quality leaving me spoilt for choice with worthy exhibits not making the cards. Ridges and crowns were excellent as were temperaments. A big thank you also has to go to my stewards for the day Nicola and Sharon who were knowledgeable and kept the ring running like clockwork.
Minor Puppy Dog (4)
1st Bowden & Quin’s - Hooz The Double. Really liked this young dog. 6 months,
red wheaten. Pleasing head with well set ears, good bone and feet. Nice body
length and angulations. When settled he showed good length and evenness of
movement. Will watch with interest.
2nd Walton Haddon’s - Mwenga’s Special Brew. Another nice puppy although
quite different in type from 1. Good shoulder and hind angulations.
3rd Kelly’s - Veldtkammer Bottle of Bolly.
Puppy Dog (3)
1st Parke’s - Veldtkammer Mega Hassle. Excellent bone and feet with good
front. Correct angulations to length ratio giving balance. Sound mover. Well
handled. BPD
2nd Barton’s - Mwafrika Mwasi. Not the substance or maturity of 1, but
pleasing outline and very good moving. A bit unsettled today.
3rd Boyes’s - Benicloujam Jacob
Junior Dog (6)
1st Raymond’s - Sofala Saracen. Very impressive young dog, well built, strong
and muscular. Excellent front and feet. Hocks well let down giving a long
easy stride with reach and drive. So sound coming and going. Sure he will
have a great future.
2nd Salmon’s - Diamondridge Bakari of Zebrariver. Handsome young dog with
balanced outline another really sound mover in this good class.
3rd Nicholson’s - Trendsetter Ardress
Special Yearling Dog (4,1a)
1st Davis’s - Imola Izola. Typical head on well set neck into a good shoulder.
Well ribbed back. Excellent extended stride, driving from well let down
hocks.
2nd Wentink’s - Tsjakka Just Joey. Another sound, balanced mover. Will take
time to mature.
3rd Rhodes’s - Janak Jago
Novice Dog. (3,1a)
1st Rhodes’s - Janak Jago. Good dark eye and ear placement. Nice rear angulation, now needs time to mature.
2nd Boyes’s - Benicloujam Jacob. Another with a good dark eye. Promising
front, still very much a baby against older dogs.
Post Graduate Dog (8, 1a)
1st Letts’s - Nyassa Daka. Caught my eye when they first went round. Good
expression and ear placement. Super length and angulations. Excelled on the
move his long easy action putting him at the front of this very good class.
2nd Tearne’s - Faahac Fumbaa Aan N’Gai at Mudzimba. Very handsome, upstanding
dog. Lovely head, expression and ear placement. Super shoulder. Just lost
out on movement to 1 today.
3rd Mills’s - Janak Jaron by Nzuri
Limit Dog. (11, 2a)
1st Boyd, Rossiter & Fox’s - Sonstraal Gabe’s prospect at Sescheke JW ShCM. At
the front of a very good class of which I had to split hairs on many of the
places and worthy dogs not making the cards. Loved this boy for his bone,
feet and proportions. Good front and strong well angulated rear end. Moved
with drive and so sound, which gave him the RCC
2nd Ratcliff’s - Flametrees Kyper of Godolphin. Very close up to 1, liked him
for all the same reasons. Preferred head to 1, but just out moved today.
3rd Kirby & Mansfield’s - Shngwidsi Tshepa Riva
Open Dog (12)
1st Swales’s - Ch Mwani Bakari JW Liked this dogs head very much with good
expression and ear carriage through to a strong but elegant neck of good
length. My first and second places were, today, the best movers in this
class. Both having straight action coming and going with reach, drive and
balance in profile. Was pleased to award the CC for movement and type.
2nd Woodrow’s - Mirengo’s Mukwela. A very balanced outline with no
exaggeration. Coming into his own on the move. Little to choose on the move
between the two.
3rd Bowlas’s - CH Sofala Lincoln
Veteran Dog (1)
Although no award was made for this class the entry was a quality dog which
I was able to go over standing but was unfortunately lame when moved which
made it impossible to assess fairly. There was no question of the award
being withheld for insufficient quality.
Minor Puppy Bitch (6, 1a)
1st Tuttle’s - Hespa Hullanta. Feminine head and expression. Balanced outline
with good fore-chest. Nice feet and angulations. Moved very well.
2nd Wigglesworth’s - Nomuula Namaqua at Ranginui. Just needs a bit more time
to mature being of a slightly more substantial type than 1. Lovely
expression, good feet and nice body length. Another good mover.
3rd Fletcher’s - Ousebay Lulu’s Loving at Kantaris
Puppy Bitch (7, 2a)
1st Bates’s - Gunthwaite Diamond Lil. Loved everything about this puppy. She
excels in type, has a balanced outline and feminine head. Did not disappoint
on the move. Expertly handled. Will watch her progress with anticipation.
Was pleased to award her BPB & BPIS.
2nd Barton’s - Mwafrika Uzuri. Another good type although more “houndy” than
1. Lovely outline. Liked her head. Excelled on the move.
3rd Wallace’s - Sonstraal Gabby’s Dream.
Junior Bitch (11, 4a)
1st Carlton’s - Umhlandla Mbatha. Loved this bitch for her type, balance of
outline and movement. Super angulations, scored high on front with good prosternum.
2nd McCarthy-Booth & McCarthy’s - Jarhiba Hope and Glory. Another really nice
bitch of good type. Moved well just needs a bit more time to mature than 1.
3rd Nicholson’s - Trendsetter Lusitu
Special Yearling Bitch (13,5a)
1st Carlton’s - Umhlandla Mbatha
2nd Miles & Parke’s - Veldtkammer Red Hot Chick. Quality and red hot
competition at the top of this class. Love her type, super head and great
outline. Moved very well. Very close to 1 could easily change places.
3rd Ratcliff’s - Godolphins Catchthecat.
Novice Bitch (5,3a)
1st Fuller’s - Rzowi Top Tottie at Nyuki. Pleasing unexaggerated young bitch.
Moved well. Well handled.
2nd Brassington’s - Kalymbe Kasiki. Feminine head. Good outline. Very
unsettled but moved well enough.
Post Graduate Bitch (12, 4a)
1st Barnes’s - Diamondridge Dalila Substantial bitch with good bone and head.
Good length to height ratio. Excelled in profile movement driving from well
angulated, strong hocks. Sure she will have a promising future. Well
handled.
2nd Raymond’s - Sofala Saransai. Nice type, pleasing head. Another with
excellent angulations and plenty of drive. Very sound coming and going.
3rd Campbell’s - Nyassa Casha
Limit Bitch (16, 2a)
1st Craven’s - Hespa Hoguera JW. Outstanding outline with good angulations.
Good reach of nicely set neck. Good front with pronounced prosternum, deep
brisket. Nice feet free and active on the move. Well handled. Showed her
socks off today. RCC & RBIS
2nd Parke’s - Veldtkammer Face Bovvered. Another nice bitch with a lot more to
come. Outstanding on the move. Close decision but just lost out to 1 on topline today.
3rd Kirby & Mansfield’s - Shingwidsi Tshelana Riva
Open Bitch (12,5a)
1st Nash’s - Ch Mirengo’s Maiya with Mutoko JW SHCM.
Gentle expression. Good
angulations. Loved her front with plenty of fore-chest. Her exceptional
movement gave her BIS today. Effortless profile movement with reach and
drive. Straight accurate movement coming and going. At one with her handler.
CC & BIS
2nd Lawless’s - Ch Hayawani Kamambaa Rangi to Faahac ShCM Another stunning
bitch. Very feminine head and expression. Eye harmonising well with coat.
Super reach of neck. Well muscled. So sound, moving with a long reaching
easy gait. Real show girl. Expertly handled.
3rd Hewson’s - Ch / INT / BELG / IR Ch Rekaylahn Blaze JW ShCM
Veteran Bitch (6)
1st Rimmer’s - Rocksham Rio at Kylini. What a credit this
class is to the owners. 10 years old and looking fitter than some of the
youngsters. Remember judging her 8 years ago and liking her then. She
certainly has come into her own on maturity. Lovely outline with well
defined musculature and still so sound. Really enjoying her day out and
showing her socks off for her sympathetic handler. BVIS
2nd Barnes’s - Ch Diamondridge Déjà Vu. 11 years old and certainly showing the
youngsters how to do it today. Lovely head and expression. Still a fit,
tight well balanced outline. Move well. At one with her handler as she
should be.
3rd Fuller’s - Nyuki Golden Fizz
Jackie Parker (Azuli)
