At all times our main concern is for Rhodesian Ridgebacks and for those that have an interest in them. To this end the club organizes various events throughout the calendar year which hopefully prove to be both informative and entertaining.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all Ridgeback Clubs, the number of Ridgebacks that are in need of re-homing continues to grow. Proceeds from all our club activities are utilised in aiding the rescue of these unfortunate dogs. We ask, therefore, that you particularly check out our Club Events and Merchandise Pages.
We hope you enjoy browsing our web site and that it proves useful.
It has come to the notice of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Breed Clubs that some unscrupulous breeders are passing off Rhodesian Ridgebacks of incorrect colours, as "rare and correct"- please be careful. The correct colours allowed by the breed standard, as defined by The Kennel Club, are Light Wheaten to Red Wheaten and not colours such as black and tan (Doberman colouring) or brindle. Occasionally, due to a recessive genes, silver/grey, blue, black & tan or brindle coloured puppies are born. They should never be shown, never be used in a breeding programme and should be registered as "non standard" colour; their purchase price should reflect this. The Kennel Club recommends that these puppies should have their registration documents endorsed by the breeder accordingly.
RESCUE APPEALThe number of unwanted Ridgebacks being helped by Midlands & Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue continues to grow. This trend shows no sign of abating and is acting as an ever-accelerating drain on Rescue’s financial resources. Without your help, in the not to distant future, Rescue will be insolvent. If you would like to help, or indeed have an interest in re-homing a Ridgeback, please go to the Rescue Website for further details.Thank You |
